| Description | Performing an aerodynamic coefficient monitoring I have noticed that, using exactly the same mesh and settings, OpenFOAM-2.2.x (freshly updated and recompiled) gives quite different forceCoeffs output compared to OpenFOAM-2.1.1. The case is steady state and very simple, a blunt body with two symmetry planes (geometry and mesh taken from a STAR-CCM+ tutorial), while the turbulence model is realizableKE with standard wall functions. As you can see from the pictures attached, both versions of the code converge well, but there is a 25% (more or less) difference in the drag coefficient ouptut. Attached there is also the case itself, but without the mesh (the compressed file is 6.2 mb big, so I cannot upload it). If requested, I'll try to reduce the case size in order to upload a complete setting. |
