Summary | 0000561: Lift and added mass force to LPT so that bubbly flows can be calculated with lagrangian particle tracking.
Description | I have recently added Lift and added mass to the lagrangian particle tracking library. I was wondering if this can be added to the official release, perhaps in an improved way. The library and solver I have added now is added to this code. Some more information can be found here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/openfoam-solving/97629-dispersion-model-lagragian-particle-tracking-model-incompressible-flows.html#post367478 at the end of the post. One improvement for instance could be to use the virtual mass also to with the DU/Dt term as well, but I don't know how to access this. For the rest the models seems to work already quite well.

Thanks for your code/comments We have already developed a virtual mass force model that will be included in future releases, and will look to do the same for a lift force. |

This functionality has now been added to the development line and will be available in future releases |
