Summary0004005: XiFluid application to support Fickian diffusion
DescriptionGreetings,
It seems the XiFluid module application has the "unityLewisEddyDiffusivity" type being hard-coded for the turbulenceThermophysicalTransportModels. Considering the possibility of using XiFluid for simulating combustion of mixtures involving hydrogen, I was wondering could it be a better approximation to utilize Function2<scalar> within FickianEddyDiffusivity model to provide the pressure and temperature dependent mixture diffusion coefficients for "fuel", "oxidant", and "burntProducts"?

I understand specific modifications would need to be adapted to e.g. disallow binary diffusion specifications, but conceptually speaking would you agree on the present limitations of XiFluid application module to incorporate the mixture's non-equidiffusion effects, and what could be the main barrier in case the above suggestion is not meaningful as a solution?

Kindly waiting for feedback, thank you in advance!

XiFluid is based on a flamelet combustion model, solving for the regress variable b and using the unity Lewis number assumption. It is not obvious how this could be extended to handle multicomponent diffusion as there are no real species in the system.
