Summary0003795: Negative normal components of UPrime2Mean and TPrime2Mean
DescriptionThe UPrime2Mean and TPrime2Mean give negative values in different simulations. This was observed with the reactingFoam and rhoPimpleFoam solvers. A similar issue was observed in OpenFOAM-8 in the thread http://bugs.openfoam.org/view.php?id=3776. In this same thread, it was mentioned that in OF-9 the issue was solved, however it is still observed. Thank you for the help.
Steps To Reproducecompute the means and second order statistics with the reactingFoam or rhoPimpleFoam solvers.

I have run the tutorials/compressible/rhoPimpleFoam/LES/pitzDaily case in OpenFOAM-9 and OpenFOAM-dev with

functions
{
    #includeFunc fieldAverage(U, p, T, prime2Mean = yes)
}

and both UPrime2Mean and TPrime2Mean are positive everywhere.

This is what I see for the temperature. I am using Ubuntu 18.04.

I cannot reproduce that with either OpenFOAM-9 or OpenFOAM-dev, both generate positive UPrime2Mean and TPrime2Mean.

It doesn't matter what OS you are using, you just need to compile OpenFOAM-9 or dev including the commits in http://bugs.openfoam.org/view.php?id=3776

Thank you for the replies. I re-installed OF-9 now, but still getting the negative values. Could you please tell me how to implement this correction?
