Summary0000364: rhoSimplecFoam case runs in 2.0.x but not in 2.1
DescriptionWhen running a case of rhoSimplecFoam using realizableKE turbulence model, the solver asked for a term div(phi,K).

The fvSchemes already had a div(phi,k) with small k, which is correct. However I included div(phi,K), with capital K, in fvSchemes as requested.

The solver ran until second iteration and crashed with a Floating Point Exception.

I commanded unset FOAM_SIGFPE and the solver also stopped in second iteration but did not crashed. It was stuck in k equation solution...
Steps To ReproduceSee above.

Run a case with KEpsilon or realizableKE.

The tutorial case for rhoSimplecFoam supplied with 2.1.x runs fine with kEpsilon as specified. Can you reproduce the problem with the tutorial case? If not are you sure your fvSchemes and fvSolution settings are consistent with those required by version 2.1.x. See tutorial case for example.

1) I used realizableKE not KEpsilon
2) the solver asked for a term div(phi,K) not div(phi,k) as expected
3) the solver crashed at k solution (not K solution)
4) it is working well with OF20x

I used tutorial of OF20x as baseline to setup my case. It is a 3D wing in transonic regime. It is running pretty well in OF20x with good CL results that are in error margin of expected results.

I did not change anything and ran OF21.

OpenFOAM-2.1.x is not identical to OpenFOAM-2.0.x and you will need to make some changes to the case setup. See the tutorial case as an example.
