Summary0003499: [Feature Enquiry] Dynamic Mesh for chtMultiRegionFoam?
DescriptionI can see in chtMultiRegionFoam does not natively have dynamic mesh feature. I am thinking about implementing the dynamic mesh in the chtMultiRegionFoam. However, it feels like a common need to have moving mesh in the conjugate heat transfer simulations. So I am wondering if anyone has contributed to this aspect already, since I do not want to reinvent the wheel. I have searched extensively on Google but seems no solution is publicly available, although a few discussions exist.

No, this functionality has not been contributed and we have not received funding to undertake the development.

General moving mesh capability in CHT is much more complicated than for single region solvers due to the need to handle both the changes in the regions and the changes between the regions. It would be easier to undertake the development for a known set of constraints than attempt to devise a completely general approach.

Hi Henry,

Thank you for your comments. So I guess it might be easier to start from something like solidBodyMotionFvMesh: Prescribed mesh motion without topology change in mesh.

With best regards,

Requires funding.
