| Description | Hello, I am very new in OpenFOAM. Just recently I installed the ubuntu 12.0.4 in my old computer. Then I installed OpenFOAM Version 2.1.1, released 31/05/12 and Paraview 3.12.0 following the instructions in OpenFOAM webpage. http://www.openfoam.org/download/ubuntu.php At the end of the instruction, there is a very simple example called cavity. Basically it copied tutorials/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity into the computer and simulated it. At last, the instruction told me to use paraFoam command for postprocessing. Then I got this error information. created temporary 'cavity.OpenFOAM' paraview: swrast/s_renderbuffer.c:588: map_attachment: Assertion `srb->Map' failed. Aborted (core dumped) Then I started a new Terminal. At home directory, I typed "paraview". I got this error information. paraview: swrast/s_renderbuffer.c:588: map_attachment: Assertion `srb->Map' failed. Aborted (core dumped) However when I newly open the computer and type "paraview" in the Terminal at home directory, the paraview comes out without any problem. So what is the problem? What should I do to launch the paraFoam successfully? Thank you in advance. | ||||

Well.... OpenFOAM.org's installation instructions (as most do) assume that you have a properly working Linux installation. And from the error you're getting, it looks like you haven't (fully) installed the correct drivers for the graphics card on your old machine. |

Thank you. You are right. I installed a driver in my display card. Now paraview is working fine in my machine. Thank you for the advice. |
