|Summary||0003790: multiphaseEulerFoam - bubbleColumn - issue running a 3D version of the bubbleColumn tutorial|
I am currently testing the multiphaseEulerFoam solver on the bubbleColumn tutorial using OpenFOAM version 9 on Linux Ubuntu 20.
The bubbleColumn tutorial uses the adiabatic wall boundary condition (i.e. zeroGradient). This 2D tutorial case runs fine.
I re-ran the same case as above and kept everything the same except for using isothermal wall boundary condition on the walls (i.e. fixedValue uniform). The 2D simulation runs smoothly with no issues and the results are fine. See folder "bubbleColumn-N".
Afterwards, I tried another case this time a 3D version of the bubbleColumn tutorial and I also used isothermal wall temperature boundary condition - see folder "bubbleColumnn-3D". The temperature of almost the entire column immediately switches to 300K the moment the simulation commences. I don't think the water domain should change from 350K to 300K right after the simulation starts i.e. 0.01s. There may be a issue/bug when considering 3D domains and isothermal temperature wall boundary condition when using the multiphaseEulerFoam.
