Summary | 0003172: blockMesh reports a fatal error (inward-pointing faces) on a valid geometry.
Description | See this post: https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/openfoam-meshing-blockmesh/201646-error-block-hex-has-inward-pointing-faces-print.html or the attached case. The edge definitions should be processed before consistency checks.

Do the arcs turn more than 90deg? If so this cannot be done with the transfinite interpolation in blockMesh and the blocks must be sub-divided. |
|
Yes the arcs would have been 180deg. Subdividing them did the trick. |
|
Arcs > 90deg cannot be handled by the transfinite interpolation in blockMesh. |
