Summary | 0002858: sprayFoam does not support film modelling
Description | Hey So I am trying to run sprayFoam with a film model - however I get the error: "available objects of type surfaceFilmRegionModel are 0()". My understanding was that sprayFoam is built on the reactingParcelFoam libraries. Now that reactingParcelFoam and reactingParcelFilmFoam have been merged into one solver, the sprayFoam solver should therefore be able to incorporate film modelling. After looking at the sprayFoam solver folder, it appears that for example in the make options the surfaceFilmModel libraries are included. However in the sprayFoam solver there is no attempt to solve film at all and the header files such as createSurfaceFilmModel.H are missing. So I was wondering if this is something that is planned to be incorporated in the future or was missed by accident?
Steps To Reproduce | You can run a reactingParcelFoam tutorial case that uses film modelling (such as the cylinder) with sprayFoam - after a few of the constant files have been modified ie changing reactingCloudProperties -> sprayCloudProperties etc...
Additional Information | I have been able to modify the sprayFoam solver myself and have been, (although I need to run more tests), successful in incorporating the film modelling into the sprayFoam solver. This was achieved through simply copying some of the header files etc. in the reactingParcelFoam solver folder.

Okay no worries, I completely understand I've managed to try compile the film modelling within sprayFoam myself and I believe it works. However I cant seem to get the Lagrangian particle data saved anymore? Although I do have the film data saved. Don't suppose you could give me a quick hint could you? If not I understand as well. Thanks |
