Summary | 0002946: reactingFoam - mass flow rate is not conservative
Description | DLR_A_LTS tutorial case shows mass flow rate deviation between inlets and outlet. Mass flow rate is about 10% higher at the outlet compared to sum of mass flow rates at the inlets. I ran the case up to 20000 iterations.

LTS is only conservative if the case converges which is often not the case. If you need accurate conservation for a case which is transient you can use LTS to evolve the flow and then restart fully transient but then you will need to average the results for the mass balance test. Also you may need to include diffusive mass transfer through the inlet and outlet in your mass balance evaluation. |

Hello Henry, thank you for the advice. I will run the case transient and test mass conservation again. It will take some time, then I come back to report. Best regards André |
