Unfortunately after couple of hours the solver crash. I saw that there was a bug for DTCHUllWave few months ago, but I don't know if there is any correlation.

        2. Operate on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
        3. Operate on OpenFoam 5.0
        4. Go to the run folder
        5. Run tutorial DTCHull by ./Allrun
        6. Wait for program to crash in a few hours
        7. Get result
Additional InformationI tried to install Openfoam 4.1 and download from github the tutorial for this version but crash as well

Are you running 5.0 or 5.x? You refer to both in your report:

       Product Version 5.0
I installed version of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, then I installed OpenFoam 5.x
       3. Operate on OpenFoam 5.0

If you are running 5.x could you let us know how recent?

Yes, I am sorry for the confusion.

I am running with Openfoam 5.x

Build : 5.x-197d9d3bf20a, i hope this is a way to show you the version. Anyway I downloaded this version from the website around three weeks ago.

Thank you for the support,

Raffaele

I have setup the case to run in OpenFOAM-5.x and OpenFOAM-dev and both are running fine and already well beyond the point that your run crashes.

Have you tried reducing the maximum Courant number? The case may be a bit fragile at such large Courant numbers and may run fine on your system if you reduce it.

No I didn't try, shall I change in the controlDict from 25 to 20 or even more ? It need for me a couple of hours to run until my crash so I will update you in the afternoon :)

Thanks a lot

Hello henry, I defined 20 as max value of the Courant number but still crash, should I continue to lower the value?

I am unable to reproduce the problem, on my machine the case runs fine in OpenFOAM-5.x and OpenFOAM-dev.
