Steps To ReproduceFrom an XMing X server running on Windows 8.1

Additional InformationI tried it from an Ubuntu 14.04 Xorg X server using -query and no errors.

It's useful to use a Linux cluster for CFD.

@weaves: Please confirm if I understood you correctly:
According to the description you've given in the "Additional Information" section, it seems that you used a machine that has Ubuntu 14.04 and with it you were successful in connecting to another machine that had ParaView installed in that other machine?

Because _if_ this is the case, then the problem has nothing to do with the ParaView build provided in the Deb package.
Therefore, if I understood your description correctly, the error is in Xming (you did not specify which exact version you're using ;) ), which has nothing to do with the OpenFOAM project.
